On Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, Michelle Obama will sit down once more. On April 19, the former first lady will make her sixth appearance, her first on the program since 2021.
Together with Oprah Winfrey, she will promote her upcoming Netflix original series The Light We Carry, which premieres on the streaming service on April 25. Hoda Kotb and Tyler Perry were the first guests on Obama’s new podcast, The Light, which debuted in March. In November, her book, The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times, was released.
In a statement, Obama added, “Like so many people around the world, I felt isolated, disconnected, and discouraged during the pandemic.” The tour was a fantastic way for me to share those tales with my readers and re-connect with real people. “Writing The Light We Carry was a way for me to make sense of it and reflect on some of the biggest challenges we all face in life,” she continued.
Obama has established himself as a fan favorite during prior trips by taking part in both “Tonight Show Surprises” and “Thank You Notes.” She and Fallon performed in an elevator surprise skit when fans on a tour were stopped at a floor where Fallon and Obama emerged as the doors opened in one of the “Tonight Show Surprises.”
On April 19 at 11:30 p.m. EDT, Obama will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
