On Wednesday, organizers announced that Ozzy Osbourne and the rest of the original lineup of heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath will perform reunited for the first time in 20 years for a one-off show on July 5 in Birmingham, England.
Alongside the flamboyant leader Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward will perform. They helped pioneer heavy metal music in the early 1970s with songs like “War Pigs,” “Paranoid,” and “Iron Man.”
Black Sabbath has performed in partial reunions but never in its original lineup since their last show in 2005.
While other band members may still record and perform, Osbourne’s wife, music manager, and television personality Sharon stated that Black Sabbath’s concert in the band’s birthplace will undoubtedly be the 76-year-old’s last.
She told Reuters, “For Ozzy right now, it’s definitely: ‘I love you and good night’.”

Although Osbourne has released new songs recently, including an album that won a Grammy, the singer has been less visible in public since disclosing in 2020 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

According to the show’s organizers, the proceeds from “Back to the Beginning” will be given to organizations like Cure Parkinson’s.
Rock and heavy metal legends Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, and Anthrax will be joined by Black Sabbath at the Villa Park event.
