Prosecutors described Pierce as a “calculating serial rapist who lured women into his home by posing as a Hollywood producer.”

“A serial rapist has been held responsible for the murders of [Giles] and [Cabrales-Arzola], who died tragically as a result of fentanyl poisoning, as well as the victims of seven other women in Los Angeles. Prosecutors will punish to the full extent of the law those who illegally supply fentanyl and destroy lives, particularly those who perpetrate sexual violence.” -District Attorney Nathan Hochman issued a statement.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, on the night of November 13, 2021, model Giles and architect Cabrales-Arzola met Pierce, Brandt Osborne, and Michael Ansbach at a party. They went back to Pierce’s house, where he gave them GHB (also known as “Goodnight, Cinderella” – the so-called “date rape drug”) and fentanyl.

According to authorities, surveillance cameras saw a group of masked males driving a car without license plates and dumping off the women at two different hospitals.

Giles was pronounced dead after personnel found her lifeless corpse outside the Hospital of Southern California in Culver City. Cabrales-Arsola was resuscitated after being transported two miles to Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Hospital, where she died eleven days later.
Toxicology examinations on the bodies revealed the presence of the painkiller fentanyl and the date-rape drug GHB in the victims’ blood. The fentanyl dosage was fatal, and Pierce was aware that the medication was combined with cocaine. The defendant subsequently claimed that he was uninformed of the risks of the medicine combination until the victims overdosed.

In his testimony, the now-convicted man said that he left his buddies in the guest room and went to bed. They were apparently comatose for nearly 12 hours before he began resuscitation procedures and transported them to the hospital.
Following the deaths, investigators discovered that Pierce was a repeat criminal who used drugs to perpetrate several sexual attacks on several women. Seven of Pierce’s victims testified about his sexual promiscuity and violent tendencies, according to prosecutors.
David Pearce was found guilty of his offenses. According to the verdict, he faces a sentence of 128 years to life in prison without parole.
