Hackers quickly gained access to the website of the Department of Government Efficiency.
At least two pages of the website have been vandalized since its hurried launch this week by critics who appear to have accessed a database that the page uses. The phrases “this is a joke of a.gov site” and “THESE ‘EXPERTS’ LEFT THEIR DATABASE OPEN” were shown on two different pages of the website.
As of 10:00 a.m. ET on Friday morning, the compromised pages are still available, but they are no longer visible to users who access the DOGE website using conventional methods.

“The DOGE page does not appear to be hosted on government servers and was pulling data from a database that can be accessed by third parties,” according to unidentified experts cited by 404 Media, which was the first to identify the compromised pages. The humiliating criticism was made possible by that.

The DOGE website is presently undergoing significant development. Right now, the page’s “Savings” option says, “Receipts coming soon, no later than Valentine’s day 💘.” (Yes, the emoji appears in the message on the government website.)

Other than that, it’s a pretty basic website that closely resembles the DOGE Twitter/X feed. It started when Elon Musk told reporters in the Oval Office that DOGE uploaded actions to its website and X feed. On Wednesday and Thursday, additional content was added to the page.

Over the past few weeks, DOGE has faced a lot of criticism for making changes to a number of government agencies at a breakneck speed, which has led to lawsuits from Democrats and unions. The group has destroyed diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and approved mass layoffs. The Department of Education and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau seem to be its most recent targets.
