The deadline of April 5th to determine TikTok’s future in the United States may not be finalized.
According to The Hill, President Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on March 6 that if a deal is not made, he would give TikTok more time to find a buyer in the United States.
The present deadline is still less than a month away, Trump pointed out. However, I’ll probably get it extended if I need one. TikTok is of great interest to us. “Hopefully, China will approve of the deal because China is going to play a part,” Trump told reporters.
In accordance with the Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, which was approved by Congress in April of last year and unanimously supported by the Supreme Court in January, TikTok, which is owned by the Chinese corporation ByteDance, was banned in the United States on January 19.

The US Supreme Court unanimously upholds the law banning TikTok.
On January 18 and 19, TikTok went offline in the United States for almost 14 hours. After Trump, who had not yet been elected, announced he would issue an executive order delaying the ban, the app was made available again.
Hours after taking office on January 20, Trump fulfilled his pledge by issuing an executive order giving TikTok and ByteDance until April 5 to find a buyer based in the United States.

Can anyone purchase TikTok?
A number of possible suitors have surfaced in recent weeks, provided the Chinese government consents to move forward with a sale to a U.S.-based organization.

Alexis Ohanian, a Reddit cofounder and partner at Seven Seven Six, consented on March 3 to act as a strategic advisor on a bid by former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and Shark Tank star and investor Kevin O’Leary.
Top creator Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, reportedly joined a proposal sponsored by tech entrepreneur Jesse Tinsley, the founder of Employer.com, shortly after TikTok’s brief shutdown in January.
The discussion has also included big American corporations including Microsoft, Oracle, and Perplexity.
As possible purchasers, Trump has also brought up Neuralink, SpaceX, Tesla, and tech titans like Elon Musk of X and Larry Ellison, the founder of Oracle.
