If the historical trend of new legal entities is to be trusted, then Radiohead may be releasing a new album soon.

On Monday, March 10, the five members of Radiohead formed a new limited liability partnership under the name RHEUK25 LLP, according to the British Government’s Companies House website. A legal business organization known as an LLP enables the band to operate independently of the conventional framework of a record label.

On the surface, the creation of an LLP might not seem significant, but past events have shown that Radiohead or its members typically launch a new album or tour after establishing a new LLP.

The group established Xurbia Xendless Ltd. in 2007 to precede the release of In Rainbows. Ticker Tape Ltd. followed in 2011 before the arrival of The King of Limbs, and A Moon Shaped Pool was rumored following the Dawn Chorus LLP’s discovery.

It’s not limited to Radiohead’s activities in general; frontman Thom Yorke was a member of Unsustainabubble Ltd. in 2010 prior to Atoms for Peace’s 2013 solo album, and the collaboration was also utilized for his subsequent solo releases. The Smile’s future recordings have been released under the name Self Help Tapes LLP, which was established in 2021 prior to the publication of their debut album.

Ahead of the 2021 reissue of Kid A and Amnesiac, titled Kid A Mnesia, Spin With a Grin Ltd. was the most recent collaboration to be formed with all five members of Radiohead. However, it should be mentioned that the founding of RHEUK25 LLP also falls on Thursday, March 13, the 30th anniversary of the publication of Radiohead’s second album, The Bends. It’s unclear at this time if the new LLP is connected to any upcoming reissues or new music.

Since their 2016 album A Moon Shaped Pool, which at the time peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, Radiohead has not put out a new studio album. Since then, the band has continued to perform, with Yorke and guitarist Jonny Greenwood collaborating with Tom Skinner on The Smile. Yorke also revealed a joint album with Mark Pritchard on Tuesday, March 11, with Tall Tales due out on May 9.

Yorke said in an interview with Australian radio station Double J prior to his Australian tour last year that he was unaware of internet rumors about the band’s future. Yorke remarked, “I don’t really give a flying f–k and I am not aware of it.”

“I apologize for any offense, but I appreciate your concern. However, I believe that we have earned the freedom to act in our own way without having to defend it or answer to the historical beliefs of others about what we ought to be doing.
