In a shocking new interview, Ashley St. Clair says she refused Elon Musk’s multimillion-dollar offer to keep her son’s paternity a secret because she didn’t want the baby “to feel like he’s a secret.”
In a Tuesday interview with the Wall Street Journal, the 26-year-old novelist said that the 53-year-old billionaire computer tycoon offered her a $15 million one-time payment and $100,000 every month until the child was 21 in exchange for her quiet on the paternity issue.
After giving birth in September, St. Clair, who also revealed for the first time that her newborn boy’s name is Romulus St. Clair, said she was contacted by Jared Birchall, Musk’s “longtime fixer.”

He allegedly promised her financial support in exchange for her keeping her relationship with the SpaceX founder a secret.

Because she didn’t want her now 7-month-old child, who is known in court documents by the initials “R.S.C.” to feel illegitimate, St. Clair told the WSJ that she chose not to sign the dotted line.
According to reports, the nondisclosure agreement she was given would forbid her from discussing Musk in public, but it didn’t stop him from denigrating her.
Additionally, according to St. Clair, the contract did not include a trust fund or life insurance in the event that Musk passed away before the child became 21, nor would it pay for security costs or offer assistance if their child developed a serious illness.

Furthermore, if the single mother ever violated the conditions of the contract, she would supposedly be required to repay the $15 million lump payment that she was paid up front.

Birchall allegedly cautioned her that it “always, always leads to a worse outcome for that woman than what it would have been otherwise,” and St. Clair seemed to infer that she was terrified by this.
Since 2023, Musk and his ex-girlfriend Grimes have been embroiled in a highly acrimonious custody dispute over their three children: son Tau Techno Mechanicus, 2, X Æ A-Xii, 4, and Exa Dark Siderael, 3.
According to a Tuesday WSJ article, Birchall frequently served as a “go-between for various negotiations” over the conflict and attended courtroom altercations. But according to reports, Musk and Grimes discreetly resolved their custody dispute in August.
According to St. Clair, she complied with some of Musk’s requests during her pregnancy, such as remaining at her apartment to keep their secret safe. According to a text message seen by the WSJ, he allegedly sent her $2 million for costs in exchange, with half of that amount being a loan.

Five months after giving birth in September 2024, the influencer filed a paternity lawsuit against Musk and asked for sole custody.
After her lawsuit, the tech mogul allegedly “substantially” lowered St. Clair’s child support. Last month, he questioned the baby’s paternity but was “not against finding out.”
Additionally, the WSJ said on Tuesday that Labcorp’s test results, which were received four days earlier, indicated that Musk is Romulus’ father with “99.9999%” certainty.

Musk has not yet replied to a request for comment from Page Six.
Over the years, the billionaire has received 13 more children, starting with Nevada, his late son with then-wife Justine Wilson, who passed away in 2002 at the age of 10 weeks.
The ex-partners are also the parents of triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, 19, and twins Griffin and Vivian, 20. However, Musk is not on good terms with Vivian, who recently referred to him as a “pathetic man-child” in a harsh interview.

Musk also has three children with Grimes, Strider and Azure, three, Arcadia, one, and an unidentified child named Seldon with Shivon Zilis.
On Tuesday, St. Clair said that she and the mogul became parents to Romulus while on vacation in St. Bart’s in January 2024. She told Musk she was ovulating, and he responded, “What are we waiting for?”
She stated that they had previously discussed having children, and that during their first sexual encounter, Musk reportedly advised her to “choose a name” for their future child.
She allegedly refused to have a cesarean section, despite Musk’s public declaration that it is better for brain size.
Additionally, St. Clair declined to sign a purported contract from Musk that would have promised $15 million and $100,000 every month until Romulus turned 21.
