Shannon Sharpe has vowed to sue his rape accuser for defamation, following the charges she made against him in a bombshell lawsuit filed on Sunday.
The ESPN personality responded to Jane Doe’s explosive claims in a video posted to his Instagram page on Tuesday morning, just minutes after the woman’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, released an audio file to TMZ Sports that he claims shows Sharpe threatening his client with “disturbing, aggressive, and dangerous” language.
Sharpe began his testimony by stating that Doe’s case “is a shakedown.” He then accused Buzbee of arranging the attempted cash grab, stating that “Tony Buzbee targets Black men.”

Sharpe then indicated that he believes Buzbee will release “a 30-second clip of a sex tape that tries to make me look guilty and plays into every stereotype you could possibly imagine.”

“That video should be about ten minutes long,” Sharpe continued. “Hey, Tony, instead of publishing your edit, put the entire video out. I don’t have it, otherwise I would do it myself. You know what happened and are attempting to manipulate the media. The interaction in question occurred during the day at her invitation, which now appears to be a premeditated setup.”
Sharpe did not respond to the audio that Buzbee released, but he did close his video by threatening to sue the attorney and his client for “defamation and attempting to bring me down.”

“I know my family and fans understand exactly what this is about,” the Pro Football Hall of Famer explained. “And I’ll be out there telling you anything I need to say, as I usually do. I love all of you. Thanks.”
In her lawsuit, Doe claimed Sharpe raped her several times in late 2024 and early 2025, after she tried to quit their nearly two-year relationship due to adultery suspicions.
Buzbee said on Tuesday that he is looking “forward to presenting the evidence in this case through the judicial process, where the truth matters more than a sports icon’s desperate public spin.”
