One of the most bizarre plots from this past weekend was Shedeur Sanders’ unexpected decline in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Many, including Skip Bayless, have conjectured as to why the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes was selected on the third day. The seasoned sports analyst was on social media and considered every idea, but one stood out as strange.

When Sanders began to tumble, Bayless said that Tom Brady discouraged the Las Vegas Raiders from acquiring him. Everyone is perplexed by the topic, but it doesn’t make sense to claim that the NFL legend would ban the team completely. Since high school, Sanders has been coached by the former quarterback for the New England Patriots and minority owner of the Raiders.
It is now very obvious that Shedeur’s tutor, Tom Brady, advised the Raiders not to select Shedeur. On X (now Twitter), Bayless remarked, “Duly noted.”

Many people thought that the Raiders were one of Sanders’s limited possibilities. ‘Grown’ would have been a solid backup quarterback and has a history with the journeyman passer, even after the trade for veteran Geno Smith. Additionally, with Chip Kelly and Pete Carroll leading the attack, Las Vegas offers a fresh ideal. They still need a quarterback of the future, and Smith is not a long-term answer.
