In the midst of criticism regarding the tour and her recent space voyage, Katy Perry sent a lengthy reply to a fan-made advertisement congratulating her on completing the first week of her “Lifetimes” tour.

Perry wrote that she is able to be true to herself, “heart open and honest,” due of the relationship she has with her fans in a response to a video of the advertisement that was uploaded to a fan account on Instagram.

“Please know I am ok, I have done a lot work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me,” she stated. “A few years ago, my therapist stated something that has changed my life: ‘No one can make you believe something about yourself that you don’t already believe about yourself.’ If I ever feel anything about it, it’s a chance to explore the sentiments that lie beneath it.

“When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed,” she said.

According to Perry, she finds authenticity in witnessing her fans in the audience each night, “singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth.”

She added an infinity emoji to her statement. “I find people to lock eyes and sing with and I know we are healing each other in a small way when I get to do that,” she stated.

“I’m not flawless, and I’ve really dropped that word from my lexicon. I’m on a human journey, playing the game of life in front of a large audience, and occasionally I make mistakes, but I get back up, carry on, and keep playing the game. Somehow, despite my traumatized journey, I keep looking toward the light, and in that light, a new level UNLOCKS,” she continued.

Perry made the remark following the start of her “Lifetimes” tour in Mexico City on April 23. Since then, social media users have criticized the artist for the stage design and choreography of the performance.

Perry was also a member of the all-female flight crew that traveled to space on a Blue Origin spaceship earlier this month for around ten minutes. The voyage immediately became controversial as the sustainability of a space journey was questioned by the general public, fast-food chains, and celebrities like Olivia Munn and Emily Ratajkowski.

“What’s the point?” On April 3, Munn stated this while co-hosting TODAY With Jenna & Friends. That you guys are going on a ride—is that historic? It seems a little gluttonous to me. The goal of space exploration was to benefit humanity and increase our understanding. What will they do up there that has improved our situation down here?

During a news conference on April 14, Perry did not directly address the criticism of the trip, but a number of her other crew members, including Lauren Sanchez, Gayle King, and Aisha Bowe, did.

“The majority of people are really excited and supporting us and understand what this mission means to young women, young girls, and young boys as well,” King said, adding that he would not allow you to take away our happiness.

Later at the press conference, she continued, “I feel like anybody who is criticizing doesn’t really understand what is happening here.” “I hope they will take a close look at what this means because I have heard it, we have all heard it, and we were even discussing it.”

Sanchez also expressed her viewpoint, as did Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and the fiancée of Blue Origin.

Sanchez remarked, “I get really fired up on this.” “I would adore it if they could visit Blue Origin and witness the thousands of workers who not only work here but also devote their lives to this vehicle.” They place a great deal of importance on their job and mission.

“So I just say, ‘Trust me,’ when we hear remarks like that. Join me. It’s incredibly eye-opening, I’ll show you what this is about,” she added.
