Despite a legal dispute with longtime rival Drake, Kendrick Lamar is reportedly planning to perform his hit diss track “Not Like Us” at the Super Bowl halftime show on February 9, 2026.
According to the United States Sun, Kendrick Lamar is due to perform the song, which has been streamed over a billion times on Spotify, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans during the highly anticipated NFL game.
The single has stirred controversy for its claimed insinuations regarding Drake, including claims of being a “p*dophile.” While some have asked Kendrick to remove the song from his repertoire for fear of causing considerable criticism, insiders reveal that Kendrick is steadfast in his decision. “He won’t back down,” one insider told The Sun, adding that Kendrick seems unconcerned about the issue or Drake’s reaction to the single. “It is a hit. “Kendrick will not be silenced or shut down.”

Drake, who recently made news with a shocking defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG), is fighting back hard. The Canadian megastar claims the label not only released the diss track, but also planned for Kendrick to perform it at the Super Bowl in order to generate public indignation and perhaps “vigilante justice.”

Drake’s complaint accuses UMG of purposely portraying him as a “criminal pdophile” by promoting the song and allowing Kendrick’s high-profile performance. He also discusses a distressing chain of events that transpired following the song’s release on May 7, such as a shooting at his home and various security breaches. According to court documents acquired by MailOnline, a car approached Drake’s residence and someone yelled, “F*k Drake,” before gunshots were fired, striking a security. The shooting took the guard to the hospital, but they survived; the perpetrator was never apprehended. The next day, an intruder managed to tunnel beneath Drake’s security barrier and enter the property, yelling racial obscenities before being captured. This was the second of three consecutive nights of security breaches at Drake’s residence.

Despite the escalating drama, insiders close to Kendrick maintain that the outrage will not dissuade him. “He doesn’t give a damn what people say or think,” one insider explained. “He will play it, no matter what people think or agree or disagree.”
With the stage set for what may be one of the most contentious Super Bowl halftime shows in recent memory, all eyes will be on Kendrick Lamar as he prepares to potentially renew his spat with Drake in front of an international audience.
