Kodak Black, Boosie, and Rod Wave are likely to be the next rappers to get in a lot of trouble for supporting the current White House government.

They are said to be going to an event in the executive office for Black History Month, which is funny because U.S. President Donald Trump is against programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The convicted politician will also be at the event, as will Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece, Alveda King, and Herschel Walker, a former NFL star who is now a Republican politician. Fans had very strong reactions to this news because these MCs have different views on the present government.

One difference is that Kodak Black is a full-on fan of Donald Trump, while Boosie wants a presidential pardon from him even though he has said bad things about him in the past. Rod Wave, on the other hand, had only a few political bars in a freestyle or two before this… At least, not before this year’s celebrations for Trump’s election. Online, people said many bad things about them, whether it was for doubling down or for their blind support. People already know what they’re going to say when they finally say what they’ve decided.

After all, Boosie, Rod Wave, and Kodak Black are just the most recent rappers to get in trouble for supporting Donald Trump in some way. For example, Nelly and Snoop Dogg got a lot of flak for playing at a party for Trump’s inauguration, even though they could have said it had nothing to do with Trump. There were also lyricists and rap artists like Fivio Foreign and Lil Pump who were much more open about their support, whether it was in public comments or songs. No matter what, it’s clear that this caused a lot of debate among their followers who either agree or disagree with their political views and the “sell-outs” they called.

But people like Kodak Black, Boosie, and Rod Wave, along with other Black artists, stood their ground and said no. It was interesting that Issa Rae canceled her show at the Kennedy Center after Donald Trump became its chairman. Around the world, Black stars are making their views heard. They just don’t always reach ears that aren’t paying attention and don’t see the racism.
