The 2025 Dreamville Fest roster featured a number of artists, including Lil Wayne, GloRilla, 21 Savage, JID, Coco Jones, and Erykah Badu.

This past weekend, the J Cole-led Dreamville music festival, which is in its fifth and last year, shook Raleigh, North Carolina’s Dorothea Dix Park. It is a sorrowful but nonetheless amazing event. The rapper even invited fellow headlining artist Erykah Badu to sing his “Didn’t Cha Know”-sampling “Too Deep For The Intro” classic as he wrapped off the event on Sunday night (April 6). All of this took place in front of a replica of Mohammad’s flat, the home of Cole’s former Queens landlord who was the first to see Cole’s artistic potential. During his performance, the “Neighbors” MC paused to consider Dreamville Fest, express gratitude to the audience for their support, and reassure them that the festival will go forth in different ways.

J. Cole commented, “We said this is the last Dreamville Festival,” in reference to the fifth year of Dreamville Fest and its future. “That st be a lot, so I’m just keeping it 100 with you guys. You understand what I mean when I say that we want to perform some incredible st for you all, as well as for Carolina. Offering that and bringing in incredible talent is what we love. […] However, I’ll merely share our plan with you all. Still, we’re going to bring some s**t.

“This festival will exist,” J. Cole said in reference to the future of Dreamville Fest. “We will return with this vibe, even though it may not have the motherfucking ‘Dreamville Festival’ name on it. I’m not sure whether you feel it while you’re out here. However, this st feels to me like a motherfing family reunion and picnic. This bh has a lot of love in it. This motherf*ing festival has a lot of Black individuals. For those who don’t know, festival organizers and Raleigh municipal authorities just signed a four-year agreement for a new event, in which Cole and Dreamville are still expected to play a significant role.

Many lifelong admirers of J. Cole thought back on their Dreamville Fest experiences and the incredible memories they created while they awaited The Fall Off. At least this new North Carolina festival will continue to celebrate music, art, culture, and community as a north star, even though it might not look the same.
