Tuesday along a tiny highway in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, two Marines who had been assigned to support the Trump administration’s crackdown on the southern border were killed in a car accident after their vehicle flipped over and fell into a 10-foot ditch.
According to people acquainted with the incident, the Marines were traveling in a civilian jeep on a two-lane roadway when they attempted to pass another car and fell into a ditch called “Snake Canyon,” which is a hangout for snakes and smugglers, before colliding with a solid rock wall.
According to a source, a Border Patrol agent who responded to the horrific sight and attempted to rescue the service personnel “was covered head to toe” in blood.

A source claimed, “That area out there is treacherous.”

According to a statement from the military, the US Northern Command has not yet disclosed the victims’ names while notifying their families and conducting an investigation into the disaster.
Because the canyon lies directly off the shoulder, it would be a terrible area to go off the road. The highway has concrete tunnels beneath it, and we have sensors there because illegal aliens hide there before being picked up by a load vehicle, according to a second source.

Before they passed away from their wounds, the two were taken to a nearby hospital, and according to sources, a third military man who was engaged in the event is in critical but stable condition.

To halt the influx of illegal migrants and drugs, the Trump administration has sent hundreds more troops to the southern border.
Additionally, the White House recently gave the military permission to occupy federal land along the border in order to improve surveillance capabilities and construct an extra wall.
According to Customs and Border Protection, unlawful border crossings have decreased to their lowest levels ever. In March, federal officials encountered about 7,100 migrants, which is less than what they saw in the first two days of March 2024.
